The Ag Van Program is solely responsible for the recruitment and training of each driver; consisting of the
following:
1. Documentation – Valid Driver’s License
2. Copy of DMV record
3. Criminal Background Check
4. Medical Clearance
Each van is property of Santa Barbara County and insured up to $2,000,000.00 with a maintenance schedule
mandated by the Department of Transportation. In addition, CHP continually provides inspections on each van
ensuring their safety and reliability on the highways and roads.
Ag Van program staff work carefully to honor government regulations and eliminate any risk to farm owners or
operators. All vanpools are in complete compliance with government regulatory agencies to include DMV, CHP
and The Department of Labor.
