| How AgVan works: AgVan drivers are agricultural workers and typically work alongside their passengers. This is one of the significant factors that have made AgVan efficient and successful in meeting the transit needs of this community. The driver and passengers collaborate to determine their routes in order to meet unconventional schedules, location pick-ups and destinations. Each driver is responsible for securing passengers and maintaining proper ridership. Drivers are responsible for collecting the fares from the riders and turning in the final amount to AgVan administration staff on a weekly basis. The fees are dependent upon mileage traveled. A schedule is posted in all vans to ensure proper fares are charged. At the end of the season or when their job ends, the driver returns the vehicle to the AgVan office where it is prepared for the next eligible driver. |
